Getting Started
GamePoint is a basketball community app that shows you who's playing at courts near you, right now. Players check in when they arrive at a court, so you can see live activity, head out when a run is going, and connect with your local basketball community.
Beyond live court activity, GamePoint lets you share highlight clips, chat with players at a court, claim ambassador status for your home court, and track your playing history.
Yes. The core experience — finding courts, checking in, seeing live activity, and court chat — is completely free.
A Pro subscription unlocks additional features like longer highlight clips, court ambassador slots, and more. Every new account gets a 30-day free Pro trial so you can explore everything before deciding.

When you create a new GamePoint account, you automatically receive 30 days of Pro access at no cost — no credit card required to start.
You'll receive an email reminder 3 days before your trial ends, and another on the final day. After the trial, your account moves to the free tier unless you subscribe to Pro.
If a friend referred you with their invite code, your trial still starts at 30 days — the referral bonus applies to the person who invited you, not to your trial length.
Courts & Check-ins
Open the app, find your court on the map or courts list, and tap Check In. GamePoint uses your GPS to verify you're physically at the court — you need to be within a short distance for the check-in to register.
Your check-in is visible to other players for the duration of your session. When you're done, tap Check Out, or the app will automatically end your session after a period of inactivity.
All activity is self-reported by players — GamePoint shows you who has checked in, but can't verify whether a game is still running at any given moment. Think of it as a live signal, not a guarantee.
The more players in your area use the app, the more accurate and useful the activity becomes. If you're heading to a court, court chat (see below) is a great way to confirm what's happening before you leave.
Location is used for two things:
GamePoint does not track your location in the background. Location is only accessed when you are actively using the app. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings, though check-in and court discovery features will be unavailable.
Yes — tap any court on the map or in the courts list to open the court detail page. You'll see how many players are currently checked in and their first names (last name is shown as an initial only for privacy).
You can also jump into court chat directly from the court detail page to ask what's happening before you make the trip.
Every court has its own live chat channel, accessible from the court detail page. It's a simple group chat for players at or heading to that court — useful for coordinating games, calling for one more player, or letting others know conditions on the day.
Examples of how players use it:
You don't need to be checked in to read or send messages in a court's chat.
If a court is missing, you can submit it for review directly from the app. Tap the + button on the courts or map screen and fill in the court name and location.
Submissions are reviewed by the GamePoint team. Once approved, the court goes live for all players in the area. You'll be notified when your submission is approved.
To speed up approval, make sure the court name is specific (e.g. "Rushcutters Bay Park — Full Court") rather than generic, and that the pin is placed accurately on the map.
Most submissions are reviewed within a few days. During busy periods it may take a little longer. You'll receive an in-app notification and email when your court is approved and live.
If your submission is declined (e.g. a duplicate already exists, or the location couldn't be verified), you'll be notified with a reason.
Court Ambassadors
A Court Ambassador is a Pro player who has claimed a specific court as their home court. Ambassadors are displayed on the court's detail page and help signal to new players that the court has an active local community.
Being an Ambassador is a status marker — it shows you're a regular at that court. It doesn't grant moderation powers or administrative control over the court itself.
Go to any court's detail page and tap Become Ambassador. This requires an active Pro subscription.
Each court has a limited number of ambassador slots. If all slots are taken, you'll see the current ambassadors listed but won't be able to claim until a slot opens.
Pro subscribers can hold one ambassador court by default. Top Recruiters (Pro users who have referred 3 or more paying Pro friends) unlock a second slot.
Ambassador status doesn't automatically expire if you stop checking in — it remains until you release it or until your Pro subscription lapses.
If your Pro subscription ends, your ambassador status is paused and the slot becomes available for another player. If you resubscribe, you can reclaim the court if the slot is still open.
You can voluntarily release a court at any time from the court detail page, which frees the slot for someone else.
Yes, in two situations:
GamePoint does not remove ambassador status based on check-in frequency — your home court is yours as long as you're on Pro.
Highlights & Clips
Tap the Record tab in the app. You can record a new clip directly in the app or upload an existing video from your camera roll. Once processed, your clip appears on your profile and can be shared with a link.
Clips are viewable publicly via a shareable link — anyone with the link can watch, even without a GamePoint account.
Clip length depends on your plan:
Free accounts can store up to 5 clips. Pro subscribers have unlimited clip storage.
Anyone with your clip's shareable link can watch it — no GamePoint account required. Your clips also appear on your public profile within the app.
You can delete a clip at any time from your profile. Deleted clips are removed from public view immediately and permanently deleted from storage within 30 days.
Referral & Rewards
Every GamePoint account has a unique invite code, visible in your account settings. Share it with friends — when someone creates an account using your code, that counts as a referral.
You earn +7 bonus Pro days the first time a friend signs up with your code. Friends who sign up via your code still receive the standard 30-day trial — the +7 days are your reward, not theirs.
The Top Recruiter badge is awarded to Pro users who have referred 3 or more friends who became paying Pro subscribers. It appears on your profile as a recognition of your contribution to the GamePoint community.
Top Recruiters on Pro also unlock a second Court Ambassador slot, letting you claim two courts instead of one.
Note: both the badge and the second ambassador slot require an active Pro subscription to maintain.
Your +7 bonus Pro days are added automatically when your first referred friend creates their account. You'll receive a notification when this happens.
The bonus applies to your first successful referral only — subsequent referrals contribute toward the Top Recruiter badge but don't add more days.
Account & Privacy
Your check-ins and activity are visible to other GamePoint users by design — this is the core purpose of the app. However, your last name is always shown as an initial only (e.g. "Jordan M.") to protect your full identity.
You can manage notification preferences and other account settings from the Account tab in the app. If you have specific privacy concerns, contact us at support@gamepointco.com.
Go to Account → Settings → Delete Account in the app. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, check-in history, clips, and personal information from our systems within 30 days.
If you have an active Pro subscription, cancel it through your device's subscription settings (App Store or Google Play) before deleting your account to avoid future charges.
